History
The Boothstown FC Academy was founded in 2004 by Denis Treacy & Mike Stephens. This evolved from the Boothstown Under 6’s football nursery, established by Denis in 2003.
After 12 years dedicated service, Denis & Mike retired from the Academy in 2014.
The Academy Today
The Academy is now run by enthusiastic Coaches who all coach with a drive and passion for helping children succeed.
Our training plans are prepared in line with FA junior team coaching principles but built around fun and games.
We do not play games against other teams until the end of the Under 6 season, but towards the Spring we arrange mini tournaments & friendlies. This is to ensure the children get the chance to develop their techniques and a love of the game at their own pace, without any pressure to succeed.
Organised matches start in year 3, when teams are established and enter the Saturday and Sunday leagues at a central venue, before coming back to Bridgewater Park to start competitive, 7v7 football in year 5 (Under 9’s).
All our Academy parents are required to complete the FA Soccer Parent course online and present their certificate in the first 5 weeks of their child starting.
